Radiant floor heat in Montana

Radiant floor heat is incredibly efficient, natural heat that’s clean, silent, odorless, draft-free and doesn’t require vents or ductwork. With radiant floor heat, warm water flows through tubes located underneath the floors. That warmth radiates up from the floors and warms everything it comes in contact with — including people. Radiant is compatible with any type of floor covering, including carpet, wood, slate, tile, linoleum, and concrete.

Because water has the capacity to transport energy 3,500 times greater than air, water can heat (and even cool) using less energy than a forced-air system. This equates to greater comfort at a lower thermostat setting, resulting in lower energy bills. In fact, more people are comfortable with radiant floor heating at a lower thermostat setting than with forced-air heating at a higher thermostat setting.

Radiant floor heat works in zones

Another benefit of a radiant heating system is that it works in zones, allowing different areas of a home to heat at different temperatures. This allows typically chilly rooms—bathrooms, basements and entryways—to receive more heat when needed. Simultaneously, low-traffic rooms can be set to a lower thermostat setting, making the system even more energy-efficient.

Do you already have radiant floor heat and find that it’s too hot in the spring and fall? We can add an outdoor reset switch to help regulate the heat output and burn less fuel. We will make sure you only get the amount of heat you need.

Key benefits of radiant floor heating:

  • Earns LEED® points for reduced energy consumption
  • Potentially saves up to 40% in energy costs
  • Concentrates heat evenly under the floor in high traffic areas
  • Eliminates cold drafts as well as noisy fans, furnaces and ductwork
  • Ideal for allergy sufferers because it doesn't circulate dirt, dust or other airborne pollutants throughout a structure
  • Easily integrates with alternative energy sources including geothermal, solar, waste and biomass
  • Because the heat is concealed under the floor, the decorating process is streamlined. No need to disguise unsightly vents or baseboard heaters with furniture.
